Several northern schools and groups showcased nothing but skill and talent during the Holetown Festival Inter-School Mix on Monday night.
The event, which began at 7 p.m., is one of the many features that make up the annual festival.
It was held at the Seaside Theatre, Holetown, and it attracted scores of locals who came to show their support as well as tourists who revelled in all of the action and excitement.
The first group on stage was the St Silas Primary Dance Group and they put on an electrifying dance presentation.
Also showing off their happy feet, was the One Movement Dance group, who moved to a number of soca tracks such as Soca Kingdom, and All Ah We.
The Alexandra School was also well represented as both their Beacons Choir and drama group put on commendable performances.
The choir members sang their hearts out while the group managed to project their voices as best as they could despite not having microphones.
At certain points of their dramatic presentation they had the audience members all but rolling in laughter.
The Hillaby Turner’s Hall Primary drummers were dynamic as were the pannists. Both the Hillaby’s Primary Steel Band and the Daryll Jordan Steel Orchestra, who closed the show, also performed a number of selections from various genres.
One of the later acts of the show, the Alleyne School Band, also helped to keep the energy high during their tribute to the Caribbean Song Festival as they performed some of the winning songs, including Hold You In A Song, which was sung by homegrown Alison Hinds and John King. (TG)
