A woman had to be freed from her car by the Barbados Fire Service using the Jaws of Life after she was involved in an accident with a sport utility vehicle along Prospect Main Road, St Michael.
Police public relations officer Acting Inspector Roland Cobbler said the accident occurred around 3 p.m. The female driver apparently suffered a broken leg, while the male driver of the other vehicle complained of chest pains.
They were both transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) by ambulance for medical attention.
Their names and ages were not released up to press time.
A resident of the area said she heard a loud bang and told her brother: “Something like it happen. When we looked outside, we saw the man crawling out of the van.”
Two fire tenders with seven officers responded to the accident, along with two ambulances from the QEH. (LK)
