Moments after a seven-year-old child had given her evidence, the man who had pleaded not guilty to indecently assaulting her, changed his plea.

He now remains on remand at Dodds Prison pending the completion of a pre-sentencing report.

The St Lucian national, who was living in St James, had denied indecently assaulting the then five-year-old girl on November 7, 2020, when he appeared in the No. 5 Supreme Court on Wednesday.

He was represented by attorneys Simon Clarke, Faith Greaves and Ken Mason, while Principal State Counsel Krystal Delaney, Senior State Counsel Joyann Catwell, and State Counsel Tito Holder and Paul Prescod appeared for the prosecution.

Yesterday the girl gave her testimony via Zoom before technical difficulties interrupted her evidence. (HLE)
