A High Court judge has sent a strong message to robbers and burglars who “prey upon” businesses and citizens – your actions will not be tolerated.

The warning came from Justice Pamela Beckles as she sentenced aggravated burglar and gunman Michael Lee Yearwood to a starting sentence of 15 years in prison for the armed invasion of a supermarket two years ago.

He will spend six years, 291 days after deductions for the burglary.

Yearwood, of 7th Avenue, New Orleans, St Michael, had pleaded guilty at an earlier Sessions of the Continuous Sittings to having a .45-calibre Webley revolver and two rounds of ammunition on July 16, 2021. (HLE)
