Shooting on Broad Street

Police Public Affairs and Communications Officer, Inspector Rodney Inniss, gives an update from Broad Street where a man was shot after a robbery attempt at Surepay in the Duty Free Caribbean building.

Eyewitnesses say a man attempted to rob Surepay and Colombian Emeralds in Duty Free Caribbean (formerly known as Cave Shepherd), The City, before being chased by security, then the police.

The man was reportedly shot by the police outside the nearby Barbados Public Workers’ Co-Operative Credit Union Ltd and taken for medical attention.

Broad Street has been cordoned off.
