Ex pleads guilty to ‘hammering’ car

A man who took a hammer to his former girlfriend’s car after she had kicked his Swift, was released on bail when he appeared in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court.

Shakeil Omar Inniss, a 26-year-old equipment operator, of Constant, St George, pleaded guilty to damaging a car belonging to Kelly Barthelmy in Oistins’ jurisdiction, and again in District A’s jurisdiction, both on August 18.

He, however, denied stealing her cell phone, valued at $3 400, on the same date.

Prosecutor Station Sergeant Crishna Williams said the complainant left Sandals car park and drove onto Dover Road in Christ Church.

At the junction she saw Inniss, in his car, turn right onto Dover Road. She then saw when he turned around and began to follow her. He overtook her and pulled his vehicle across the front of her and got out. (HLE)
