Two more charged with Golden Sands, Emmerson Trotman robberies

Members of the Major Crime Unit have arrested and charged two more men in connection with the armed robbery which occurred on January 6 at the Ixora Bar & Restaurant, Golden Sands Hotel, Maxwell Main Road, Christ Church.

They are Rachan Jackson Thomas, 23, of 1st Avenue, Vauxhall, Christ Church and Niko Antonio James, also 23, of Cane Vale in the same parish.

Thomas and James were the subjects of wanted men bulletins and they surrendered to police accompanied by an attorney-at-law.

Their charges as follows: 

– Aggravated burglary (Ixora Restaurant situated at Golden Sands Hotel) on January 6, 2018

– Aggravated burglary at the residence of Emmerson Trotman on January 3, 2018

– Robbery of Emmerson Trotman on January 3

– 8 counts of endangering lives by discharging a firearm in a public place whilst at Ixora Restaurant on January 6.

Twenty-two-year-olds Hakeem Zoe Isiah Robinson of #24 Bartletts Tenantry, Sergeants Village, Christ Church and Akeem Ricardo Bourne of #2, 5th Avenue, Wildey, St Michael and #385 Emerald Park West, Six Roads, St Philip have already appeared in court charged with these offences.

Meanwhile, James faces additional charges. He is jointly charged with 18-year-old Shad Gabriel Orlando Slocombe of Block 1, Apartment 5, Country Towers, St Michael for aggravated burglary at the residence of Mohammed Patel on January 18 and aggravated burglary at Frankie’s Barber Shop on December 23, 2017. 

James is also accused of wounding with intent and use of a firearm. 

Thomas is expected to appear in the Oistins Magistrates Court while James and Slocombe are expected to appear in the Bridgetown Magistrates’ Court today. (PR/NB)
