Man of the Match Dario Lopez led JCB Boscobelle to their second Barbados Cricket Association’s Shield 40-over title in consecutive years when they defeated Wildey by six wickets in yesterday’s final at the Wayne Daniel Complex in St Philip.

The 31-year-old elegant right-handed opener stroked an unbeaten 79 from 86 deliveries with seven fours to guide his St Peter-based team to 176 for four in 31.1 overs after being set a victory target of 173 in 40 overs.

The foundation for victory was laid by an opening stand of 60 between Lopez and the attacking Richie Greaves, whose 32 contained four fours and a six from 30 balls.

But the thrust for championship glory in the competition for Intermediate and Second Division teams was a second-wicket stand of 101 from 124 balls between the solidly-built left-hander Jadeja Edwards and Lopez.  (HE)
