Yellow make them see red

It was so nice Yellow had to do it thrice. The champs are still in charge of Wesley Hall sports, having won their third straight title yesterday during the school’s inter-house sports at the National Stadium.

Led by three different division winners, including victrix ludorum Lanicia Harewood, Yellow completed their three-peat after finishing the day with 554.5 points.

Blue had to settle for second with 507.5 points while Green and Red finished down the ladder with 492 and 458 points respectively.

It was a dominant performance for Harewood, who won the Under-13 girls’ category with 38 points following victories in the 200, 400 and 600 metres, and a second-place finish in the 100.

Teammate Kevion Newton went two points better to win the boys’ Under-13 equivalent while Yellow’s third division winner was Keon Mayers (28) in the Under-9 boys’ category.

Yet Red’s Malique Aimey had the best showing of the day, amassing 48 points to win the victor ludorum title.

Competing in the Under-11 division, Aimey stormed to victories in the 100, 200, cricket ball throw and long jump before copping silver in the 300 metres as well.

His Under-9 teammate Tezaria Garner took home top honours in the Under-9 girls’ category with 33 points while Blue house’s Kyla McConney also finished with 33 points in the Under-11 division. (JM)
