The brightest blooms on the island were on show as the Barbados Horticultural Society staged its annual Flower And Garden Show at its Balls Plantation headquarters in Christ Church yesterday.

A steady stream of patrons inspected and left with their own prized purchases as the subtle scents and assorted hues of a variety of flowers teased the senses.

Displays from the Barbados Association of Floral Artistes showed the creative use of flora while scores of craftspeople exhibited their wares on the spacious lawns.

President of the Barbados Horticultural Society, Jennifer Weetch, was pleased with the event and the number of repeat vendors.

The flower show continues today. (HLE)
