The foolish pranks must stop, warns Minister of Education Ronald Jones.

Making reference to a recent incident in which a schoolboy lit the hair of a female schoolmate with a lighter, Jones said such pranks must not be tolerated.

“What came through to me was that it was a careless prank and obviously something that would have had to been discussed before, because you just don’t instinctively know what would be done. It had to be a set-up because you don’t quickly get a camera and record when you hear the click of a lighter.

“Foolish pranks must be eliminated in the system. You can’t see these things as jokes because carelessness can bring about disaster.

“Students need to be careful of the harm they do to others because the result is also harm to themselves,” the minister stressed. (DB)
