Lucky to be alive

A stroke of luck averted what could have been the death of another Barbadian senior as a result of a mauling by two big breed dogs yesterday.

It was about 9:05 a.m. when the sound of human screams ricocheted through the quiet environs of Brighton, St Michael.

The piercing echoes unfamiliar to the district alerted some residents who rushed in the direction from where they came.

It was not a happy discovery.

They saw an 81-year-old Bajan-Canadian, whose name was given as Enid Small on her knees being savaged by the two dogs.

It was reported that Small was in Barbados on one of her many visits. (JS/HLE)
