Rock Hard adds more to structure

An ongoing court case hasn’t stopped Rock Hard Cement from making additions to its Spring Garden, St Michael facility.

The warehouse structure at the Flour Mill site has now had walls erected on two sides, which can be clearly seen from the Spring Garden Highway.

Government, through the Town & Country Planning Department took Hard Rock Cement to court in June of 2016, accusing chairman Mark Maloney of refusing to carry out the instructions of a stop notice which was issued by Chief Town Planner Mark Cummins.

One month later, Rock Hard Cement was granted a stay by Magistrate Douglas Frederick that no further action be taken against the company until its appeal was determined.

When contacted, Chief Town Planner Mark Cummins told the SATURDAY SUN he was not commenting on the situation as the matter was still before the courts.

Meanwhile, Hard Rock Cement owner Mark Maloney declined to speak on the matter, saying he was not comfortable doing so with someone he did not know personally. (BARBADOS NATION)
