Barbados is on course for another record winter cruise tourism performance with 13 new cruise ships scheduled to call at the Bridgetown Port this season.

The island has already seen the arrival of ten of the new ships between October and December and the other three are due between February and April.

According to information supplied by the Bridgetown Port, these additional ships will bring the number of cruise ship calls during this season to 439 – by 98 ships from 39 international cruise lines.

Chief executive officer of Foster and Ince Cruiseworld, Martin Ince, said his agency, one of the leading promoters of cruise ship business for Barbados, was working to attract more new cruise lines to the island.

“My role is very much to look into the future.

“I am already looking at 2020 and 2021 and we reach out quite far in advance to the new cruise lines.” (GC)
