Traffic changes for Oistins Fish Festival

The public is advised that as a result of the annual Oistins Fish Festival the following traffic management changes have been implemented.

From Friday March 29 to Monday April 1, the roads will be closed between 2 p.m. and midnight. Oistins Road, from its junction with Keizer Hill to the junction of Welches Road and Cane Vale Hill, will be closed to general vehicular traffic:

·   Traffic travelling in an easterly direction along Maxwell main road, Christ Church towards Oistins will not be permitted beyond its junction with Cane Vale Road, Christ Church. All vehicular traffic, with the exception of Public Service Vehicles, will be diverted at the Cane Vale road junction.

·   Traffic travelling in a westerly direction towards Oistins via Thornbury Hill road will be diverted at its junction with Pegwell Boggs road. Only Public Service Vehicles will be permitted to travel along the regular route through Oistins.

·   Traffic travelling towards Oistins via Oistins Hill will be permitted to access their residences, Oistins car park or the Service Station but will not be allowed free access onto Oistins main road; exits will be via same route along Oistins Hill.

·  Traffic travelling along Enterprise main road will be diverted at the junction of Oistins main road onto Pegwell main road. Only Public Service Vehicles will be allowed access onto Oistins main road.

No Parking:

From Friday March 29 to Monday April 1, 2024, no person shall park or allow their vehicle to remain stationary on Keizer Hill, Oistins Hill, Thornbury Hill, Church Hill, Cane Vale Road, Maxwell Main Road, Welches Road and Pegwell Road, except for the purpose of picking up or setting down passengers. 

Parking will be provided in the public car park north of Granny’s, and Christ Church Foundation School.

The Royal Barbados Police Service encourages the travelling public to comply with the directions given by police officers on duty who will be regulating traffic. (PR/SAT)
