Another appeal for ganja ease

GENERAL SECRETARY of the National Rastafari Registry Secretariat Trust, Paul “Ras Simba Akomba” Rock, is once more appealing for the legality of cannabis as it relates to sacramental and recreational use.

Simba said while some other Caribbean countries like Grenada, Jamaica and Bermuda have moved the needle towards decriminalising the plant, Barbados was still behind.

“Every other island that sought to get into the industry has given their people some sort of allowance. Whether it is two ounces, or five plants as it is in Jamaica, whatever the allowance, people were given something.

“In Barbados, we still cannot legally carry a seed. Anything under 15 grams is a ticketable offence. So we have an industry that is moving ahead without the consideration of the people,” he said. (JRN)

  1. The authority in Barbados is correct in not making the weed legal.
Barbados already has too many mentally ill people.
And making the weed legal could eventually create more.
Which would then cause a bigger problem for the healthcare system in Barbados.
Are the people who will be benefiting from the legalization of the weed going to pickup healthcare bills?
Because they will be weed heads, and homeless people.
All of these things must be given careful consideration before anything is decide on.
I personally’s in favor of Barbados not following the islands whom you stated above.
