The ‘Helen Of The West’ has been rocking with an influx of Caribbean and international stars as the Saint Lucia Jazz And Arts Festival climaxed over the weekend.

The April 30 to May 12 event has seen large crowds gathering on Pigeon Island to soak up the soca, reggae, R&B, Afrobeats and a host of genres from a potpourri of seasoned performers.

Last Friday night it was Caribbean Fusion headlined by international soca legend, Trinidadian Machel Montano, and the silky smooth voice of Jamaican lovers rock champion Beres Hammond.

On Saturday night the focus was on World Beats. It featured American star Chloe Bailey, Afrobeats from Nigerian Joeboy (who was recently in Barbados performing at the Caribbean Music Festival at Farley Hill National Park), and his countryman, singer, songwriter and record producer Davido who closed off the show.

Last night American Babyface and the group Air Supply were due to bring down the curtain on the festival in The Ultimate Celebration. (BW)
