Bridgetown businessman Ibrahim Noumeh has died.

The well known owner of the Bionic Man Shop on Lower Broad Street in The City reportedly died at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital yesterday afternoon.

He was 74.

Announcing his passing, his daughter Dr Natalie Noumeh described her father as “a beloved businessman and cherished member of the community”, who lived in Barbados for the last 57 years and dedicated his life to his family and his work. She said he was “a friend to many”  who would be “dearly missed”.

The Syrian-born businessman operated a business in Speightstown in the 70s and in the 80s moved to Bridgetown where he opened Bionic Man Shop, known particularly for its finely-tailored men’s suits. He later relocated to Trident House on Broad Street with the renamed Bionic Shop and was often seen engaged in recreational activity with Lower Broad Street taxi operators outside his business.
