The deceased in yesterday’s shooting incident at Silver Sands has been identified as Darin Simon Oneal Mapp, 21, of St. Christopher, Christ Church.
The incident occurred around 5:47 p.m on Saturday near the junction of Silver Sands Road and McClean Gap, close to a local shopping complex.
Mapp and several others were gathered at the junction when a vehicle approached, and multiple gunshots were fired. The men scattered, but Mapp was found lifeless on the ground, while another man was injured and transported for medical assistance in a private vehicle.
This incident marks the 20th murder of the year. Investigations are ongoing.
