Fire destroys home, damages two others

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a house fire, which occurred sometime after midnight yesterday, at Haynesville, St James. The fire destroyed a housing unit occupied by 48-year-old Sinclair Alleyne, and resulted in damages to two other units. 

Preliminary investigations revealed that at around 12:50 a.m., neighbours observed smoke coming from the unit occupied by Alleyne − who was not at home. Flames were subsequently observed, and the fire department notified.

Two fire tenders, and four Fire Officers under the command of Senior Fire Officer Clarence Holder responded to the blaze.

Investigations are continuing. (PR)
