Tale of two husbands … 23 days apart

Vincentian Ean Hamblett spent over $8 000 looking for the Bajan woman who left him days after their quick Valentine’s Day wedding in 1992.

Speaking to the Sunday Sun via telephone, he related how he met Coral Blackman in St Vincent in December 1991 and married her two months later. He was 33 and she 28.

A few days after the wedding, according to Hamblett, his wife’s lover, Carlton Stuart, turned up in St Vincent and took her back to Barbados.

The farmer only recently found out that Blackman had also married Stuart 23 days after tying the knot with him. He said to his knowledge they have never been divorced.

This two-timing situation came to light after Stuart’s daughter, Marlene, found out that her stepmother was also married to the Vincentian and hired an investigator to track him down.
