The dreaded NSRL tax has now become the Grinch of Christmas.
It’s not shaping up to be a very merry Christmas for businesses in Bridgetown, with most of them reporting extremely slow sales for the Yuletide season.
And they have put the blame squarely on the shoulders of the National Social Responsibility Levy (NSRL) which Government increased by 400 per cent back in June.
With just over a week to go before Christmas, things are looking so bleak that managing director of Woolworth F W & Co (Barbados) Ltd Martin Bryan, told the WEEKEND NATION that barring a serious rush, sales would be significantly less than last year’s. (RB)
