Four injured in collision between route taxi and bus

Police are investigating an accident which left four people nursing injuries.

It occurred around 2:20 p.m. today along Belle Road, St Michael and involved a route taxi and a Transport Board bus.

The route taxi was driven by 25-year-old Andre Atkins of Pilgrim Road, Christ Church, while the bus was driven by 42-year-old Reuben Hinds of Two Mile Hill, St Michael.

A 32-year-old male passenger in the bus complained of pain to his left shoulder, arm and left side. A 65-year-old male, a 14-year-old girl and a 43-year-old female who were passengers in the route taxi complained of pain to the hand, back, neck and legs.

The 14-year-old and 65-year-old man were both transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance while the other injured people opted to seek private medical attention. (PR/NB)
