Girl is first Independence baby

Annetta Eversley is the mother of the first Independence Day baby for 2017.

At 3:44 a.m. she delivered her six pound, three ounce bundle of joy Janaee Aniyah Edwards.

Eversley told NATION NEWS she was not prepared for her sudden gift.

“She was due for a later date in December but I was supposed to come in next Wednesday to deliver her. But yesterday my water broke and she’s here on Independence Day,” the proud Eversley said while she sat in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Janaee was one of three births recorded at the QEH. Staff at the Bayview Hospital reported no births for the day.

Mum and baby received gifts from Massy Distribution and Kiwanis Club of Barbados Central. (AD)
