Parents and guardians of students attending Luther Thorne Memorial Primary School and Graydon Sealy Secondary School have been asked to collect their children and wards.
A fire in the area of Luther Thorne has reportedly caused several children to complain of respiratory difficulties.
A number of ambulances are said to be on the compound.
