Drag meet set for Nov. 26

Launch Control 4, a six-hour day and night drag race meet will bring the curtain down on the 2017 season of the Barbados Association of Dragsters and Drifters (BADD) later this month.

And the MegaWatt Westfield driver Dan Johnson will lead a cadre of fastmen to the event scheduled for November 26 at Bushy Park.

The other fastmen, Anthony Mayers, Graeme Finlayson, Barry Gilkes, Rick Dowridge, Tahir Kara and Shorn Joseph alone with Johnson all won their respective groups at Launch Control 3 and BADD officials have given them free entry to the final event at the St Philip racing facility.

BADD officials say that a Track Day on November 12 at Bushy Park would be used for practice, in the run up to Launch Control 4 at the same venue but would be contested under the all-arena lights.

Launch Control 4 is scheduled to run from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and we will also include some drifting, but club officials have said that if fewer than ten entries are received by 4 p.m. on Tuesday November 21, the event will be cancelled.

Entry fees are the usual $80 for those with a BMF A or B license and $190 for those who have done one event or less for the year.

Club chairman Jason Downey said the 2017 season was a good one and they are looking forward for the new season which will begin on March 11 with practice during a Bushy Park Track Day

BADD’s season will start on March 18 with event No.1 at Bushy Park. (TT)
