The stakes are already high for the finalists of the Richard Stoute Teen Talent Contest, but things are expected to get even more competitive when the event is held on November 5 at the Barbados Hilton Resort, Needham’s Point, St Michael.
This is because the winner of this year’s finals will get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to sing for Bajan international superstar Robyn Rihanna Fenty.
While these 17 contestants are eager to get their hands on thousands of dollars in prizes as well as a scholarship to the Barbados Community College, there is no doubt that this is the most desired prize.
The winner will be paid to perform a Rihanna song at the official renaming ceremony of Westbury New Road to Rihanna Drive which will be held on Independence Day and attended by the Bajan music, fashion and beauty icon, along with Prime Minister Freundel Stuart.
Founder of the 41-year-old contest, veteran entertainer Richard Stoute was excited about the opportunity and he was pleased that Teen Talent’s vital role in music in Barbados over its years was being recognised. (SDB Media)
