It’s looking like the island will get a restored East Point Lighthouse for its 51st birthday.

Finance director of Hinds Transport, Dave Hinds, told the DAILY NATION that the new completion date was now looking like the end of November.

“We had hoped to have it done by the end of September,” he admitted. “But I would say, realistically, we are looking at end of November.”

Hinds Transport is behind the restoration of the 1875, 97-foot-high lighthouse, at its own expense, as a gift to the island. The company had been hoping to have it finished to coincide with its 60th anniversary celebrations. (HLE)
