They claim they were locked out, but now the Prison Officers Association is locked in.
Seems the association has no plans of backing down in its fight against the Government, having filed a second lawsuit within a year against the powers that be.
The association, whose members are warders at Her Majesty’s Prisons Dodds, had last year filed for a constitutional review of the Prison Act in the High Court in an effort to be able to function as a union. Now they have filed a second lawsuit in the High Court, this time claiming there are being undermined by prison authorities and have been unlawfully locked out of their offices.
The latest action, filed on September 28, names Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite, Superintendent of Prisons, Lieutenant Colonel John Nurse, and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs as defendants. (BA)
