Men to face court over gun and ammo charges

Update – Two Christ Church men charged in connection with a firearm and ammunition seizure earlier this month have been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prisons Dodds.

Ayeko Adrian Alleyne, 23, of McClean Road, Silver Sands, and Tahshawn Rashad Smith, 24, of Portvale Road, Sayers Court, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes in the District ‘A’ Criminal Court No. 1 on Monday, May 12.

The two men, who were arrested by the Serious Organised Crime Unit of the Barbados Police Service, are charged with possession of a firearm and possession of nine rounds of ammunition, stemming from an incident along Roebuck Street, St Michael on May 7.

They were not required to plead to the indictable offences and have been remanded until their next court appearance scheduled for Friday, June 6, 2025.

Two young men from Christ Church are expected to appear in court today to answer charges relating to the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Tahshawn Rashad Smith, 24, of Portvale Road, Sayers Court, and Ayeko Adrian Alleyne, 23, of McClean Road, Silver Sands, were arrested and formally charged by the Serious Organised Crime Unit of the Barbados Police Service following an incident along Roebuck Street, St Michael.

Both men are accused of being in possession of a firearm and nine rounds of ammunition on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

They are scheduled to appear before Chief Magistrate Ian Weeks in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court today, Monday, May 12, 2025.
