Government’s Personnel Administration Division (PAD) will be moving from its current paper intensive approach to a digital-based environment, with the introduction of the Correspondence Management Solution (CMS).
The CMS will be launched this Friday, October 6, during a ceremony at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, where Prime Minister Freundel Stuart will deliver the feature address.
Chief Personnel Officer, Gail Atkins, disclosed that the CMS would allow for the electronic submission and processing of correspondence from external government entities and the public for review and approval by the PAD.
“This solution will allow the Personnel Administration Division to store all of its documents in electronic format and enable multiple users to view and review correspondence at the same time. This will allow for the quicker processing and response of correspondence from all stakeholders, both government agencies and the wider public,” Atkins explained.
She outlined some of the benefits of the CMS as: applicants receiving feedback on electronic correspondence without any requirement to physically enter the PAD building; functionality to track and monitor the progress of correspondence as it moves through the approval process; enhanced transparency with better monitoring and control; and archival of files in a secure and centralised repository.
The CMS will address all types of correspondence, those being Government-to-citizen; Government-to-Government and Government-to-business. It will also accommodate the various types of correspondence sent, including applications for staff vacancies, both temporary and permanent; and applications for Leave and Pension. (BGIS)
