Those chilling words of Arthur “Speedy” Walton best describe the feelings of Barbudans.
In just a few hours on Tuesday, the 161-square kilometre island which 1 800 inhabitants called home was almost completely flattened by a violent and unforgiving Hurricane Irma.
By the time the water had somewhat subsided and the gale force winds calmed, most people were unable to identify what little was left of their homes, if any at all. (RB)
