WESTON, ST JAMES, may be on the verge of being washed away, some residents fear.

“When it rains again, I definitely feel it’s all over for Weston and especially we here in Douglin Road,” said Marcia Jordan-Hackett, who is worried that the next major flood could be ruinous for the area. “The bridge needs raising but even so the canal too small. We does get St Thomas, St Andrew and we own water how can we deal with that?”

Not only residents but fisherfolk have also had enough of the constant flooding as the torrential waters inevitably makes its way to the sea, often through their boats.

It last happened more than two weeks ago during the passage of Tropical Storm Harvey. (CA)
