BARBADOS’ TOP INTERNATIONAL surfer and sports tourism ambassador, Chelsea Tuach, has been flying the flag high for Barbados at the World Surf League 6000 Pantin Pro in Galicia, Spain.
Competing against the leading 72 female surfers in the world at the biggest surf event in Europe, Tuach surfed with speed, power and flow in the tricky conditions to gain a place among the top 16 surfers remaining in the draw.
She took a convincing win in her Round of 24 heat from German surfer Frankie Harrer and Australian surfer Kobie Enright to set up a showdown with New Zealand No.1 surfer, Paige Hareb.
“It was really tricky out there with the low tide conditions so I kept busy and, luckily, found my best two waves at the end of the heat to take the win,” she said. (PR/EZS)
