All schools across Barbados will close at 1 p.m. today, as the island remains under a flood warning issued by the Barbados Meteorological Services.
The Ministry of Educational Transformation announced that the decision was made in light of the worsening weather conditions. Parents and guardians are asked to collect students as soon as possible.
The Ministry said it will continue to follow guidance from the Meteorological Services regarding when schools can safely reopen.
Officials are urging the public to stay alert and monitor updates from the Ministry, the Government Information Service, and other media partners as conditions develop.
