Owners still determined to sell Globe

The iconic Globe Cinema building remains on the real estate market, and there is no rush of serious offers for the large entertainment property.

But the family which has owned the building at the end of Roebuck Street, St Michael, since the 1950s has no intention of renting out the property again, or putting it back into business.

Zaimool Ali told the SUNDAY SUN renting out the property had been problematic, and their intention was to sell, even if it stayed on the market for another year.

“We want to get rid of it,” Ali said. “We want it sold because renting out a property like that is too much hassle. We don’t want to have to be worrying about if we are going to get paid rent this month or the next. When we get it sold, that’s it, but renting out was too much trouble.” (BA)
