The West Indies captain and talisman warned that his side faces a crucial battle to secure qualification for the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, stressing that every match from now on carries significant weight.

This public pronouncement came following their rain-affected One-Day International series defeat to Sri Lanka. He spoke on Monday night after the second abandonment due to rain and acknowledged that the result left the Caribbean side needing to maximise their opportunities in upcoming matches.

The plot thickened yesterday when Bangladesh hammered Australia at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka and gained two massive points in the rankings. West Indies were defeated by Sri Lanka and lost one vital point.
