There’s a whole pyjama vibe at the Central Bank of Barbados tonight.

But there isn’t any sleeping, or even pillow fights.

Instead, hundreds of Barbadian banking and financial officials are anxiously awaiting the official launch of the country’s financial platform, BimPay.

Governor of the Central Bank, Dr Kevin Greenidge is the host of the historic event, which will see BimPay become the country’s main way for Barbadians to facilitate the movement of their money from bank to bank or even bank to person.

Inclusive of chatting about the new facility, patrons at the Bank’s Grand Salle location were also treated to a video tribute which gave details of how BimPay will work.

Prime Minister, Mia Amor Mottley is slated to complete the first transaction on the BimPay platform live just before midnight. (BA)
