Like true champions, Barbados dug deep when the pressure was on to withstand the challenge of Trinidad and Tobago and emerge winners of the 2017 Cricket West Indies Under-15 Tournament yesterday.

The Bajans completed a fourth victory in five matches – the other game was a no-result because of rain – but they were made to tight tooth and nail before overcoming the plucky dethroned champions by 15 runs at the North Stars Club in Crab Hill, St Lucy.

It was Barbados’ fourth title since the inception of the tournament in 1997 and it meant a lot to the entire contingent, including coach Richard Clarke and manager Jason Haynes. (HG)
