Diabetics stressed to find test strips

THE SEARCH FOR blood glucose test strips has been long and difficult for many diabetics.

Some parents of children living with the disease are worried by the challenges in getting an adequate supply of the strips which play an important role in helping people to monitor their diabetes.

Parents who attended the closing of the Diabetes Association of Barbados Camp Pride told the DAILY NATION that for many of them, it was not just the difficulty  accessing the strips but it was also the quantity they got since each vial contains 50 which may not be an adequate supply for those who do testing two or three times a day.

Luckily for Ryan Weekes, he said the Barbados Diabetes Association provided him with a good supply but acknowledged that there was an issue. (TG)
