A SURPRISE declaration by ESA Field Pickwick ended in disaster after ICBL Empire accepted the challenge and won by eight wickets on the final day of their Barbados Cricket Association’s second round Elite Division match yesterday.

The hosts were tearing the Bank Hall men’s bowling apart, reaching284 for two in their second innings just after tea.

Openers Craig St Hill and Kyle Hope posted an opening stand of 229 in 45 overs with little bother.

St Hill played every shot in the book to fashion 153 from 170 balls with 17 fours and two sixes. Hope had eased up to 81 with three fours and three sixes before he holed out to midwicket. (HE)
