Adults setting ‘bad’ examples

A TWO-TIME OLYMPIAN has given Barbados a failing grade in the area of conflict resolution.

Freida Nicholls, addressing a recent career guidance workshop at St George Secondary School, said the fault did not rest only at the feet of the country’s youth.

Rather, it was some adults who were setting bad examples.

“As a nation we are failing miserably. The recent video of schoolgirls fighting on the streets is really just a peek at what is really going on. Young people are in your face over every slightest disagreement and it gets physical. But the adults are no better; they’re not setting a good example either. . .” (WILLCOMM)
