THE BARBADOS METEOROLOGICAL Services continues to monitor the progress of a tropical wave over the central Atlantic.

The axis of this wave was located near 39/40W at 2 p.m. this afternoon.

Analysis of satellite products during the past twenty-four hours has shown a steady weakening of the wave due mainly to the presence of a layer of Saharan dust and the entrainment of dry air into the system.

However, the wave is still forecast to bring pockets of moderate to heavy showers, isolated thunderstorms and occasional gusty winds across Barbados late Thursday into early Friday.

This information will be updated as conditions warrant.
