VISITOR ARRIVALS for Crop Over should be bumper again this year, says chairman of the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., Alvin Jemmott.

“I am seeing a lot of activity and I believe this year’s Crop Over will be one of equal success, if not better [than last year’s]. I am seeing a lot of requests coming out of places such as Martinique and some of the other Caribbean territories and, of course, the Barbadian diaspora,” he said.

“They are coming out of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Orlando, New York, Canada . . . so we expect a bumper Crop Over season,” the hotelier said, adding he had recently visited those source markets and noted the excitement there.

Jemmott was speaking to the media on Saturday at Divi Southwinds after a donation to Marina House. (CA)
