ROLAND BUTCHER, the first black man to play for England, wants to be vice president of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA).
And high on his agenda is moving club cricket to semi-professional status.
“The time is ripe for the club player, who has to invest plenty of time, to benefit financially for his efforts. The players should get some sort of reward. I think they deserve it,” he said.
Butcher, a board member of the BCA for the last six years, told the WEEKEND NATION he has a role to play in assisting clubs financially and technically. (MK)
