VARIETY, The Children’s Charity is helping Rasonté Parsons to get some new prosthetic limbs.

The charity launched its first crowdfunding project over the weekend called “Stand Tall” to raise the US$7 500 needed to purchase a new pair for the 15-year-old double amputee.

Executive director of the charity, Donnah Russell, in explaining why they decided to take this course, said: “In this climate of economic uncertainty, we find that donations are dwindling and are a threat to the very existence of non-profit organisations which depend on public and corporate donations to fund the services they provide to their clients.

“While we are grateful for all our faithful partners who know very well the importance of what we do, we are very much compelled to look for new avenues for funding and more streams for sustainable income.” (AD)
