More than $3m in drugs seized offshore

TWO BARBADIAN MEN are assisting police with investigations into a drug haul with a street value of more than $3 million.

The identities of the men, age 64 and 42, have not been released.

According to police, members of the Drug Squad, Police Marine Unit, Barbados Coast Guard and Regional Security System Air Wing intercepted a Barbadian vessel offshore Thursday.

A total of 50.5 kilos of cocaine, with a street value of $2 525 000 and 160 pounds of cannabis with a street value of $640 000, were seized from the boat. (PR/SAT)
