32 picked for Phenomenal Friday

THE NATIONAL Cultural Foundation today announced the semi-finalists set to take the stage in the Sweet Soca and Party Monarch competitions at Phenomenal Friday, July 7, 2017 at Kensington Oval.

Sixteen performers each in the popular competitions will be looking to wow the judges and take one of the coveted spots for the Soca Royale showdown at Bushy Park on July 30.

Edwin Yearwood is the reigning Sweet Soca Monarch while Lil Rick was crowned Party Monarch last year.

 

Sweet Soca: Damian Marvay, Antidote; Fadda Fox, Good Ole Days; Faith, Refill; Kirk Brown, Incredible Girl; Lil Rick, Blessing; Marzville, Give it to ya; Mistah Dale, De Ting Start; Mr Blood, Look Fuh Meh; Natahlee, Nevah Let U Go; Nikita, Carry Festival; RPB, Boat Ride; Sanctuary, Pick Me Up; Shaquille, Collateral; Shirley Stewart, I Can’t Help It; Statement, We Nah Leavin and TC with Paradise.

Mikey is the reserve with his song Level Up.

Party Monarch: Faith, Run It; Gorg, If Ah Drunk Ah Drunk; Holla Bak, Hold De Key; Jahm-r, Make A Wave; Kirk Brown, Shake; Mikey, Feting and Brass; Mistah Dale, Soca Famaleez; Mr Blood, LEGGO; Nik-Man, Whinning Tusty; Peter Ram, Upside Down; Queen T, Enchanted; Rameses, Fowl Cock; Ras Iley & Grynner, D 2 ah we; Saffiyah, Tun Up, Scribz,   Waistline Tekova and Sim Simma doing Professional Gals.
