Bus stop chargers the way to go

BARBADIANS ARE TAKING advantage of the opportunity to charge their smart devices at selected bus shelters, thanks to local telecommunication providers.

“I think this is a good idea,” Ronald Fenty told the SATURDAY SUN as he pulled up to recharge his Android phone on Bay Street.

He said that he was riding to his Bayland home but had to stop to give his phone some juice.

“Smart bus stops could reduce bad situations,” he said. “For instance, let’s say you needed to get in touch with someone and got stranded with a dead phone battery. Sometimes that happens late at night and that is the head time you need to make an important call.” (SB)
