Nature ranch in need of help

THE NATURE FUN RANCH, which educates mainly at-risk youth on farming and the environment, is seeking more funding to help rehabilitate “bad apples”.

Founder Corey Lane issued the appeal yesterday after accepting a $5 000 cheque from Tropical Shipping at the camp’s base at Bruce Vale, St Andrew.

“. . . They (participants) are eager, they are always calling, they want to be a part . . .,” he said. “What I would like Barbadians to do is light a candle and find a way that they can help projects like mine and others in terms of turning young people around. When they cross the gate at nature we realise they are not bad apples.”

Lane estimated that the ranch would need about $395 000 to have a full programme going over the next three years. (SDB Media)
